In almost 60 years, the company in the Eifel region has enthusiastically expanded, but not just to becoming one of the biggest industrial employers in the region with 540 employees. Also as a systems partner to industrial companies active worldwide, Deutsche Mechatronics can draw on a wide range of technological experience.
...into Deutsche Mechatronics GmbH.
In 2000, TESSAG-Mechatronics GmbH was founded, and in September 2001 there was a change of company name to RWE Mechatronics GmbH. RWE Mechatronics developed into a systems partner and systems service provider for the OEM-specific development, design and production of comprehensive solutions for mechatronic components and systems. A peek into the future: we wanted to participate actively in the development of an RWE-developed fuel-cell system for a decentralised energy supply for households
An intelligent image processing system for testing opaque 2D blanks was launched on the market. The VQC was able to view, test and analyse.
OEM provided a new impulse. The development and production of IR drying systems marked the move into process engineering. Systems for air and vacuum supply, dust separation, devices for laser processing, tool grinding machines, opto-electrical measuring and testing systems, and a large number of complex components came into play.
A new field was established - technical services. Decades of experience in sheet-metal processing led to manufacturing services for a new client base. Pure production was quickly followed by new developments specific to sheet metal products. Development was carried out for different applications. The electrical engineering background of the employees facilitated the move into automation and control technology.
The number of employees grew. 265 employees developed and manufactured compact transformer stations out of galvanised steel plate with powder coating for permanent installation outdoors. By 2000, more than 50,000 LAHMEYER Compact Stations® had been supplied. Even the oldest of these are still functioning today, worldwide.
The company Elektrizitäts-Actien-Gesellschaft vorm. W. Lahmeyer & Co. acquired a transformer workshop with a staff of 50 and an annual sales figure equivalent to 500,000 euros in Mechernich, in the Eifel district. Transformers were manufactured for almost half a century.
